Christmas Stollen cookies

At KidzCooking we make cooking fun for kids. At our Birthday Party Workshops, Cooking Classes and Events, children develop valuable communication and motor skills, while at the same time they learn a lot about food. At each class (Saturdays and Sundays) we speak French and English, so feel free to choose between a Saturday or a Sunday class as convenient for you. Each class is held from 10h30 till 11h45 in Luxembourg city, at 343 rue de Rollingergrund, and you can park at -1 accessible from the left side of the building. A chaque cours nous parlons français et anglais, vous êtes libres de choisir entre un samedi ou un dimanche. Ingredients

1 kg of flour

80 g of fresh baker’s yeast

150 g caster sugar

a little warm milk

1 pinch of salt

360 g melted butter at room temperature

500 g raisins

100 g of almond powder

3 teaspoons of rum

Sieve the flour into a bowl, make a whole and crumble the yeast. Add 2 tablespoons caster sugar and a little warm milk and let stand about 10 minutes, until the mixture starts to foam.

Add the remaining sugar, salt, butter, raisins, almond powder, rum and knead the dough. Cover with a damp cloth and let stand in a warm place for about 1 hour, until the dough doubles in volume.

On a floured worktop, work the dough to form the individual cookies.

Place Stollen cooking on the baking paper and brown at 175 ° C for 20-25 minutes.

If you make a whole Stollen cake, the recipe stays the same but the cooking time is 50 minutes or an hour.

After baking, brush 2 tablespoons melted butter on cookies and sprinkle generously with icing sugar.
