Preserving more iron, and vitamins B, whole wheat flour scones with cranberries also contain high dose of antioxidants and vitamin C
- 100g dried cranberries
- 50g raisins
- 30cl milk
- 100g butter
- 1-2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 500g de flour (we have mixed 2 kinds of flour, rye flour and spelt flour)
- 1 baking powder
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 180g (6 slices) of cheddar cheese
- sesam and poppy seeds
Sift the flour into a bowl, add one baking powder and baking soda, sugar, raisins and cranberries, knead together with softened butter. Preheat the oven to 200°C.
Prepare cheddar cream with 180g of cheddar and 15cl of warm milk, simmer till the texture is creamy and let cool down.
Add the cheddar cream to the flour mix, add remaining 15cl of milk, roll out the dough. Form the scones, brush with egg yolk diluted with some little water, decorate with sesam and poppy seeds and bake for 25 minutes.
